"Worship Plus" Adult Bible Study Program

Our goal this year is to see every adult regularly attend worshop services PLUS attend one of the many Bible Studies,Home Groups, or Special Ministries here at Mt. Zion. We have some very nice programs on Sunday as well as studies that take place during the week. 

 

Sunday Morning  – 9:15am

• Sanctuary Bible Class - John Hines, Jr., teacher.   The emphasis will be on practical Christian living.  It is for adults of all ages.
• Firm Foundations - John and Kathy Stisted, teachers.  This class is for adults of all ages and meets in the New Wing.
• Golden Girls- George Ward, teacher.   This is primarily a ladies class and meets in the Sunday School Class across from the Children’s ministry office.
• Parlor Bible Class - Bob Butland, teacher.    This is an adult class of all ages and meets in the Parlor.
• Ladies Sunday School - Sherry Bush, teacher.  This class meets in the New Wing and is open to women of all ages.

       Sunday Evenings

• 6:00pm -Sunday Evening Bible Study - Jay Tice, teacher. This class meets in the Parlor.

       During the week

• Monday Morning Bible Study 10:00am - Vicki Lerch, teacher.  This group has covered a lot of topics. The class is for adults of all ages and meets in the Parlor.
• Tuesday Men’s Study 7:30pm - Pastor Bill, teacher.  This men are studying the book of John. They meet in the Fellowship Hall.
• Wednesday 6:00pm-“Sweet Sue’s Bible Study”- The name is in honor of Sue Harrison, who in her last days in this life held a Bible Study in her hospice room. God honored her faithfulness and the group is continuing to meet every week. They are meeting at the Hospice House on Rt. 2 with LaVina Trott as facilitator.
• Wednesday at 7:00pm-M & M Home Group-Joe Harrison, teacher.  This group meets in the home of Joe and Anita Uber , who live at 4750 J Flanders Lane, Harwood.
• Wednesday at 7:30 pm-Koinonia Home Group- Ray Spicer, teacher. This group meets at 72 Duval Lane, Edgewater, the home of Al and Heidi Kammer. It is a well established home group with great fellowship and relevant teaching. This year’s study is in the book of Hebrews.
• Thursday at 6:00am Bible Study - Rick Catterton, facilitator. This group meets in the Parlor.
• Thursday at 7:00pm-Ladies Bible Study—Dee Tice, facilitator. This group  meets in the Parlor. This class is for women of all ages.
• First Fridays at 7:00pm-Iron to Iron-Jay Tice, facilitator. This is the monthly men’s meeting. It is for men of all ages and meets in a different home every month. Each month there is a different theme, but there is always food, testimonies, and prayer (not necessarily in that order!)
• Second Fridays at 7:00pm-Women’s Ministry - Carol Kilpatrick and Pam Scoglio, facilitators. This group meets on the second Fridays of the month at different homes. All women are invited to attend.

Youth Ministries

• Sunday Mornings - 9:15am - Middle & Senior High Sunday School
• Sunday Evenings - 5:30pm - Middle & Senior High Youth Group
• Wednesday Evenings - 7:00pm - Middle & Senior High Bible Study - Fellowship Hall

Children’s Sunday Morning Programs

Children’s Sunday School will be offered at 9:15am. Ages and classes are as follows:

§  Cribbery – for infants through age 18m. Toddlers for ages 18m-2yrs.

§  Preschool – for ages 3, 4, and 5, Sue Inzer, teacher.

§  Early Elementary – grades 1 and 2, LaVina Trott, teacher.

§  Older Elementary – grades 3, 4, and 5, Sherrie Lofton teacher.

Children’s (Junior) Church When the children arrive with their families, they will go immediately to the Fellowship Hall which will be set up for a worship/devotional time for them, at their age level and understanding. They will have music and prayer time and learn what it means to worrship and praise God. Our morning devotional time will last about 15-20 minutes and then the children will be dismissed to age-level classrooms for their lesson.

We offer a Cribbery  & Toddler Program for infants through two year-olds during the 10:30am Worship hour.
