"Worship Plus" Adult Bible Study Program

Our goal this year is to see every adult regularly attend worship services PLUS attend one of the many Bible Studies,

Home Groups, or Special Ministries here at Mt. Zion. We have some very nice programs on Sunday as well as studies that take place during the week. 

 

Sunday Morning – 9:30am

• Bible Class - John Hines, Jr., teacher. The emphasis will be on practical Christian living. It is for adults of all ages.  Currently this class is doing an in depth study of the Book of Romans.  This class has moved to a classroom in the New Wing.
• Firm Foundations - John and Kathy Stisted, teachers. This class is for adults of all ages and meets in the New Wing.
• Essentials - Christianity 101 - George & Marsha Ward, teachers. An 8 week repeating course on the basic Christian beliefs based on the Apostles' Creed. This class meets in the Sanctuary.
• Parlor Bible Class - Bob Butland, teacher. This is an adult class of all ages and meets in the Parlor.  Currently they are studying Proverbs.
• Ladies Sunday School - Sherry Bush, teacher. This class meets in the New Wing and is open to women of all ages.  Currently studying the book “Woman of Wisdom.”
• Living By The Book - Dennis Taylor, teacher.  This class meets in the New Wing and is open to adults of all ages.  Currently in a study of the Book of I Corinthians.

      Sunday Evening

• 6:00pm -Sunday Evening Bible Study – Donna Catterton, teacher. This class meets in the Parlor.  Currently doing a study of the Gospels beginning with Matthew.

      During the week

• Monday Morning Bible Study 10:00am - Vicki Lerch, teacher. This group has covered a lot of topics. The class is for adults of all ages and meets in the Parlor.
• Tuesday Men’s Study 7:30pm - Pastor Bill, teacher. This men are studying the book of Hebrews. They meet in the Fellowship Hall.
• Wednesday at 5:45pm - Essentials- Christianity 102 - Carol Kilpatrick & Beth Leak, teachers. A deeper study of the Apostles' Creed and basic Christian beliefs.  The class meets in the Parlor.
• Wednesday at 7:00pm-M & M Home Group-Joe Harrison, teacher. This group meets in the home of Joe and Anita Uber, who live at 4750 J Flanders Lane, Harwood.
• Thursday at 6:00am Bible Study - Rick Catterton, facilitator. This group meets in the Parlor. Currently studying II Corinthians.
• Thursday at 7:00pm-Ladies Bible Study—Annetta Cook & Ann Herche, facilitators. This group meets in the Parlor. This class is for women of all ages.  THeir new study is "The Sacred Echo" by Margaret Feinberg.
• Thursday at 7 pm - The Truth Project - Pastor Jack, teacher.  This is a 13 week class examining a Biblical Worldview and Answering the Question, “Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?” This class will meet at the home of Bill and Mary Burris, who live at 4414 Claybrooke Dr, Lothian.
• First Fridays at 7:00pm-Iron to Iron-Jay Tice, facilitator. This is the monthly men’s meeting. It is for men of all ages and meets in a different home every month. Each month there is a different theme, but there is always food, testimonies, and prayer (not necessarily in that order!)  January 8, 2012 will be at the home of Rick Catterton.  For directions, please contact the Church Office.
• Second Fridays at 7:00pm-Women’s Ministry - Carol Kilpatrick facilitator. This group meets on the second Fridays of the month at different homes. All women are invited to attend.  January 13, 2012 will be at the home of Terrie Catterton.

Youth Ministries

• Sunday Mornings - 9:30am- Middle & Senior High Sunday School
• Wednesday Evenings - 6:30pm - Lifeline, Senior High Bible Study - Daley's Home, 209 Alice Way, Lothain
• Friday Afternoon - 3:15pm to 5:00pm - Middle High Youth Group meets in Parlor

Children’s Sunday Morning Programs

Children’s Sunday School

Sunday School classes are offered at 9:30am on Sunday morning to children ages 3 through 5th grade. We also provide child care in our Nursery for infants through age 2. Our children's classes follow a strong curriculum that is scripture based and presented at a level that each age group can understand. Whether it is through Bible stories, hands-on projects, music, games or interactive play, we believe that children need a strong foundation upon which to grow spiritually. Our ministry is to help children come to know God through His Son, Jesus the Christ.

Children’s (Junior) Church

When the elementary aged children arrive for the 10:30 service they will begin their worship with their parents in the Sanctuary.

After the praise songs they will be dismissed to go with their teachers to continue their worship and lessons in age level classes. They will be dismissed from those classes when the parents come to pick them up after the service ends.

We offer a Nursery & Toddler Program for infants through age 2 during the 10:30am Worship hour as well.
