Hospice of the Chesapeake Volunteer Night – February 15th 7-9pm
Hospice of the Chesapeake will hold a Volunteer Information Night for prospective volunteers on Wednesday, February 15, from 7-9pm at the Annapolis office located at 445 Defense Highway. Staff and volunteers will discuss the many interesting volunteer opportunities. Light refreshments will be served. Young Mother's - New Study Group, Wednesday, February 15th 6pm
A Young Mother’s home Bible Study group will begin at 6pm to 8pm this coming Wednesday February 15th at Lorraine Davis’ house, 5646 Brooks Woods Road Lothian. The study is open to all women, but especially geared toward women with children who may not have child care every week. Feel free to bring your children and join in a Bible study that will address the issues young mothers face every day.

No Cease is the band for the evening and they play heavy metal Christian music. Desiree Holmes Scherini is the artist.
Teacher, Small Group, and Ministry Leader Workshop – Saturday, February 18th - 9 am to 3 pm
This is the last Sunday to sign up for the Leadership Training Workshop. If you haven’t already done so, please sign up on the sheet on the Bulletin board in the hall. If you are a Sunday School Teacher (children or adult), a small group leader or facilitator, or if you are a Ministry leader or would like to work with one of our ministries, please sign up for this one day training. We will be giving you tools to help with your ministry and teaching. We need your RSVP so you can be counted for the lunch being provided.
Ministry Fair – February 19th during Sunday School
We will be having our Ministry Fair on February 19th in the Fellowship Hall between the two worship services in lieu of Sunday School for that day. If you would like to have a display board for your ministry, please see Pastor Jack.
Pancake Supper - February 21st - 6:00pm
Join us in the Fellowship Hall for a Pancake Supper with Sausages, Eggs, Orange Juice and Coffee. There is no cost for this dinner but donations will be accepted for Missions & Outreach. Bring the Family!
Ash Wednesday Service – February 22nd - 7:00pm
We will gather at 7:00 on Ash Wednesday, February 22 for a special service. The service will include both the imposition of ashes, for those who would like to receive them, as a reminder of our hopelessness without our Savior and Communion to remind us of his death, resurrection and ascension, that have given us new life. Join us for this powerful time of worship.
His Kids Presents Storytime With Mom or Dad - Friday , February 24th from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
This is a fun event where children dress in pajamas, bring a blanket or sleeping bag, bring a favorite storybook, and come to listen to bedtime stories being read by parents. The evening concludes with milk and cookies. We invite and encourage the church preschoolers and kindergartners to participate. The evening is designed for children ages 2-kindergarten, and an adult family member needs to attend, too. We would appreciate advance registration, so please contact the preschool office (410-867-4981 or pam@mzumc.com ) to let us know that you can attend! Please plan to bring a favorite storybook to read aloud to the group.
Thursday, March 1st 8:30pm - New Discussion Group "Tap Into Life"
A new discussion group is forming for the purpose of reaching people where they are and answering real, honest, questions about Faith, God, The Bible, and other Spiritual and Life issues in a relevant way. The group is called "Tap into Life" and will be held at Coconut Joe’s Bar and Grill (48 South River Road, Edgewater, MD) each Thursday night from 8:30pm to 10pm beginning March 1st. The first meeting will be this coming Wednesday February 15th from 8:30pm to10pm just as an introduction time and to discuss some of the topics we would like to tackle. We are looking to reach those who may not come to church to find the answers, so we will take the discussion to them. If you would like to be a part of this discussion group see Pastor Jack or Tim Eller.
Essentials 101 - the ABCs of Christianity
This Sunday school class will begin another 8 week session on Sunday March 4th. We will be using the Apostles Creed as an outline and the Scriptures as our foundation. There will be a sign-up sheet posted (foyer bulletin board) to help determine if this class will continue. Come ready to listen and explore the ABCs of Christianity.
Mystery Mixer - Saturday, March 10th 6pm
Mystery Mixer – If you are interested in being a host or a guest for the next Mystery Mixer on March 10th, please fill out the form in the upcoming Sunday bulletins and give it to Sherry Bush no later than February 26th.
Children’s Movie Night - Saturday March 10th, 5:30-8:30pm
Tim Eller and Jessica Phibbons will be holding a Movie Night for the children of the church from Pre-K through 5th grade. You may drop your children off at 5:30 pm for dinner and a movie. Pick up will be at 8:30 pm. This will give parents plenty of time to get to their Mystery Mixer location on time as well as give them time to pick up their children. Friday, March 30th Sportsman Dinner
Tickets for the Sportsman Dinner hosted by Iron to Iron on March 30th are available. The value of the tickets are $30 each. See the Bulletin insert for more detailed information. We would like each man, or woman, in the church who loves hunting to take a ticket for themselves and friend. Please see Jay Tice or Pastor Jack to get your tickets.
