Pastor Bill Herche

Pastor Bill's desire is to see God's children come into His saving grace and come to know the love of Christ. Bill feels strongly that if we are to be the Church of Jesus Christ we must grow in wisdom and knowledge and we must reach out in ministry to bring God's message of salvation to those who have not yet heard the Good News. Having served numerous churches for 30 years, Pastor Bill's most recent appointment, before coming to Mt. Zion, was as Director of Manidokan Outdoor Ministry Center. For six years Bill's sanctuary was the "wooded cathedral" of God's awesome Creation. Bill can be reached at pastorbill@mzumc.com  or through the office at 410-867-4035. Pastor Bill is normally in the office most weekday mornings

                Pastor Jack Thomas

Pastor Jack Thomas comes to us from Virginia via North Carolina. Born and reared in NC, he is a true Tarheel. In twenty two years of ministry, he has served as Senior Pastor, Church Planter, and Missions Director for an International Mission. His most recent work has been serving as a Senior Pastor and Interim Pastor of two small country churches in Virginia.

Since becoming a Christian, Jack has had a desire to share God’s Word in Missions. As he began ministry, serving as a Director of Ukrainian Missions for Faith Missions during the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990, he experienced first hand the hunger for God’s Word in a dark country. This experience took an ember of passion and ignited a fire for missions. In 1997, after taking the prayer of Dr. Bob Pierce, founder of World Vision, “Let my heart be broken by the things that break the great Heart of God,” James 1:22-27 became the backbone of his ministry and missions work. His belief is that when we simply preach the Word for theological understanding without practically living the Word in our missions we miss seeing and experiencing Christ and His heart. Thus we end up with a Theological knowledge of God and not a Relational Experience of God. A practical, living love of the Word will see the face of Jesus in the lowliest of places and peoples. The saying has been coined, “People don’t care how much you know till they know how much you care.” Relationships, with God or others, begin with practically touching the lives of those who are hurting, in whatever way. Jesus never met a spiritual need without also meeting a physical need. Pastor Jack can be reached at pastorjack@mzumc.com or by calling the church office.

                               Tim Eller

Tim Eller was born and raised in Bowie, MD.  After graduating from Annapolis Area Christian School in 2006, Tim furthered his education by seeking a degree in Youth Ministries at Liberty University.  During his time at Liberty, Tim served on the Student Leadership program where he filled the position of Prayer Leader during his freshman year.  The following years after that, Tim further pursued opportunities to serve at Liberty and became a Spiritual Life Director for the halls he stayed on each year.  While keeping busy over the summer serving at summer camps and doing internships with churches, Tim has had an increasing desire to see the youth of our culture won for Christ.  Tim feels that the key to reaching anyone is by building a solid relationship with that individual and that modeling Christ’s evangelistic tactic of just getting to know people is one of the most important things a Christian can do.  Tim is in the office every morning Monday thru Friday and each afternoon till at least 2:00.  His email address is tim@mzumc.com and can also be reached at (410) 8674035 or through his cellphone at (301) 655-0035.
