Join us for Mt. Zion's very First Chili Cook-Off!
This is a fundraiser for our ASP trip this summer.
Contestants will prepare 3-4 quarts of chili as a donation. A slate of impartial judges will determine who has the best chili by these categories:
APPEARANCE
CONSISTENCY
AROMA
TASTE
AFTER TASTE
The judges will also judge the presentation of your chili serving area.
Your display may also win the "People's Choice Award" - voted by those who attend the dinner after the cook-off.
The theme is
"My Favorite Team:
Football Time of Year".
Your chili will need a name around the theme and you'll need to
indicate the level of heat. Any chili recipe is allowed...with beans, without beans, meatless, white, whatever you think is best!
Participants are not limited to members of Mt. Zion so invite your friends or neighbors to join you!
After judging, we will serve up chili for dinner. We're asking for a $5 per person or $20 per family donation. Salad, cornbread and dessert will also be provided.
The winner gets bragging rights, a trophy and a good meal of chili with all the fixings.
