Needles on a Mission
Needles on a Mission is now under the new leadership of Lori Hill. Since 2011, this group has made hats for South County Elementary students who receive coats through the annual Mt. Zion Youth Coat Drive.
In 2018, over 360 hats were given away. More will be needed this year as a fourth school will participate in this program. In addition to making hats the group also makes prayer shawls, lap throws, hand-held prayer squares, baby hats and Christening blankets to welcome the newest little additions to our congregation.
We are seeking new members as Lori leads Needles on a Mission to undertake new exciting projects and outreach activities. You don’t need to know how to knit or crochet. We will teach you, either with needles or looping yarn on a craft loom to make a hat. If you don’t want to make items from yarn, there are other tasks required to support our efforts. We’d love for you to attend, even if it is for fellowship and talk.
